Inspired by Maverick’s Gentleman Club, the cocktail is originally named “Maverick Martini”. The idea to make the cocktail is described by Ankrah as a “complete accident”. The eureka moment appeared while he was working on opening the London bar Townhouse and working on his book called “Shaken and Stirred”. Ankrah wanted to invent a drink that embodied 3 qualities which bars should represent: bold, sexy and playful.

On his way to London, Ankrah changed the cocktail’s title to Pornstar Martini. It’s an alluring, evocative and cheeky name, which was given to the drink simply because Ankrah believed it’d be something a pornstar would choose.

Step by step easy Pawn Star Martini recipe

You’ll find many variants of this recipe while doing research on the Internet. However, the recipe we would like to share with you below is the original one. To recreate the modern classic Pornstar Martini, you’ll need the following ingredients:

Ingredients

  • Champagne (35ml)
  • Vanilla sugar (2 teaspoon)
  • Apple juice (25ml)
  • Passion fruit puree (25ml)
  • Passoã (25ml)
  • Vodka (25ml, use Grey Goose La Vanille for original recipe)
  • Passion fruit shell (cut in half)

Instructions

Step 1: Chill a cocktail glass by placing it in the freezer (for about 30 minutes or more). Or you can give the cocktail a quick chill by filling it with soda water and crushed ice (about 1 minute or so). Discard the soda water and the ice before pouring in the cocktail.

Step 2: In a cocktail shaker, mix together the passion fruit puree, vanilla sugar, apple juice, Passoã and vodka. Shake with ice vigorously.

Step 3: Strain the mixture into the cocktail glass (already chilled). Use passion fruit shell as garnishment for the cocktail. Serve the Pornstar Martini immediately with one shot of champagne or prosecco. Enjoy!

Tips and tricks for easy Pawn Star Martini recipe

  • You can replace the passion fruit liqueur with Vok Advokaat – a brandy-style liqueur.
  • If vanilla sugar is not available in your kitchen pantry, you can use sugar syrup instead. In a small saucepan, pour in 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Then stir well over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely and thickens slightly (about 3 minutes).
  • You can also make the Pornstar Martini without a cocktail shaker. Nevertheless, the drink will probably not taste as good as when it’s made with a shaker.
  • Traditionally, the drink is served in Martini glasses. However you can use cocktail glass or coupe glass, whichever fits your preference.
