Making the dough for Godfather’s Taco Pizza

Ingredients

  • Kosher salt (2 tsp)
  • Water (1 1/2 cups)
  • Sugar (1 tsp)
  • Instant dry yeast (1 envelope)
  • Bread flour (3 1/2 cups, plus more to roll the dough)
  • Olive oil (2 tbsp plus 1/2 tbsp)

Instructions

Step 1: In the bowl attached to your stand mixer machine, add bread flour, kosher salt, yeast and sugar. Turn on the mixer and let it mix all the ingredients together. While the mixer is working, add 2 tbsp oil and water. Continue mixing until a ball-shaped dough is formed.

Add 1 tbsp flour at a time in case your dough is too sticky until you obtain the right consistency. On the other hand, you can add 1 tbsp water at a time if the dough turns out to be too dry.

Step 2: Lightly spray the cutting board or any kind of surface with flour to avoid sticking. Then transfer the dough onto the surface and knead the dough until it becomes a smooth and firm ball.

Step 3: Add 1/2 tbsp olive oil to a large bowl to grease a large bowl. Cover the bowl containing the dough with plastic wrap. Refrigerate the bowl for about one hour so that the dough can grow.

Step 4: Once 1 hour has passed. Spread out the dough on a surface that is covered with a thin layer of flour. Cut the dough in half and cover each piece with plastic wrap or kitchen towel. Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes or more.

Notes:

You can replace bread flour with all-purpose flour. However, using all-purpose flour will give a pizza crust a more chewy texture, while bread flour will make your pizza crust more crispy.

Initially, the worker still kneaded the dough to create the pizza base as usual. But the ingredients are slightly changed when using mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce to match the taste. The crispy, hot cake layer after baking will blend the fragrant soft cheese layer with the passionate smell of spices.

As for the taco, it’s still small round tortillas after deep frying, then put the filling to keep the inside. Unlimited in any choice, you will enjoy beef tacos, chicken, cheese sauce, salad… They not only diversify the taste but also create a grand overall for the dish. This is definitely a pizza that you should try once.
