When the small coil that is in an electric stove is adjusted to the highest setting, it can get as hot as 932°F to 1112°F (500°C to 600°C). On the other hand, when the large coil in the electric stove is on the highest setting, it can get as hot as 1472°F to 1652°F (800°C to 900°C).
An electric stove on clean mode is said to be a self-cleaning electric stove. A self-cleaning oven is a quality in many modern electric stoves, which helps burn off cooking spills and splatters.
To live up to its name, the self-cleaning electric stove must be at a very high temperature of about 937°F or 500°C. The temperature is what makes the cleaning easier and faster. Although it’s not common, proper attention must be paid to the electric stove while on clean mode to prevent fire hazards. Even if all larger food particles have been removed, there will likely still be some cooking oil splatters to burn off.

Examples of foods that are best cooked at average temperature are beef steaks, beef burgers, marinated chicken breasts, and salmon fish.
Cooking at high temperatures is best for searing meat, sautéing vegetables, or thickening a sauce or soup. Foods like meat should be seared at high temperatures to eliminate bacteria that can cause diseases.
If you’ve been using your electric stove for some time and it doesn’t get hot as fast as it used to, thus leading to time wastage and less efficiency, here’s what you can do:
Clean the burner and socket
When the burner of your electric stove gets dirty, it can reduce its efficiency. For example, remnants of food items or oil spillage on the burner can reduce the heat transfer, slowing your cooking.
All you need to do is remove the burner from the socket and soak it in hot soapy water. Then, use a scrubbing brush to scrub every dirt off your burner.
You can also use vinegar to clean the socket if you notice any specks of dirt on them, as dirty sockets can reduce the transfer of electric current and lead to uneven cooking.
Swap the burners or get a new set of burners
Sometimes, when you notice that a burner is not as efficient as it used to be and you can’t see any particles or dirt on it, you can remove it from its socket and insert it more securely. You can even swap burners by exchanging their sockets. This can also make it more effective.
Better still, you can get a new set of burners if the idea of swapping the burners doesn’t work. New burners are always more effective than old ones.
Clean the switch knobs or get new ones
The switch knobs of your electric stove are always affected by the grease spills which occur when you’re cooking. When you notice the grease is too much, pull the knobs and clean them appropriately.
Remove the knobs and put them into a bowl of hot soapy water, and rub the flat surface and others with a scrubbing sponge till they are clean. After washing, dry the knobs and fix them back to your electric stove.
